Radio Mexicana Nuestras Noticias XEP 1300 AM

Radio Mexicana Nuestras Noticias is the on-air brand of XEP-AM, a 1300 kHz AM radio station in Ciudad Juárez, in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, across the border from El Paso, Texas. It combines news and talk programming with regional Mexican music, and it is broadcast in Spanish.

The XEP concession dates back to 1936, when it was originally on 1160 kHz and granted to Esteban Parra. The station is now part of Grupo Radiorama, a large Mexican radio group, after having been run for a period by Grupo Radio México. Public listings describe it as a Class B station with a daytime power of 38,000 watts and a reduced power at night, which lets the signal reach a wide area around the border region.

Listeners can expect local and national news, discussion programmes and Mexican regional music aimed at the Ciudad Juárez and El Paso audience. Detailed programme schedules are not published in the sources consulted. The online stream is a 128 kbps MP3 feed that identifies itself as Radio Mexicana 1300 AM - XEP.
