Cadena SER
About Cadena SER
Cadena SER is one of Spain's biggest national radio networks, broadcasting a general-interest mix of news, current affairs, debate, sport and entertainment in Spanish. The stream carries the network's national programming from Madrid, so what you hear is the same schedule that reaches listeners across the country on FM and online.
The network is part of PRISA Media, the radio arm of the Spanish media group PRISA, and its history goes back to the early days of Spanish radio in the 1920s. It is known for its morning and evening news and talk programmes, such as Hoy por Hoy and Hora 25, and for its live sports coverage, especially football. Cultural and society topics also feature alongside politics and the economy. The editorial line is generally described as centre-left; the network is a commercial broadcaster funded by advertising.
Expect mostly spoken-word content: bulletins, interviews, panel discussions, phone-ins and match commentary, with occasional music inside shows. Local stations in the network may opt out for regional news at certain times. This stream is delivered as a 128 kbps stereo MP3 through the StreamTheWorld platform, and the broadcast language is Castilian Spanish.
