How to use Radiokite
Free live radio from everywhere. Everything you need to know fits on this page.
Play a station
Tap any station cover to start it. The player stays at the bottom of the page while you browse, so the music never stops when you look around.
- Play and pause with the red button.
- Previous and next jump between the stations on the page you started from.
- Volume is the slider. The speaker button mutes.
- The heart saves the station to your favourites.
The player shows the song title when the station shares it. Tap the station name to open its page, with a description.
Stations are live, so there is no seeking. If a station is slow to start, give it a few seconds.
Find something to hear
Search by station name, genre or country. Try jazz, Brazil or the name of a station you know.
- Every station page ends with related stations: similar ones, more from the same country and more of its genres. Open a genre from the page to see them all.
- The home page mixes featured and popular stations.
- The grid button in the top bar switches between covers and a compact list.
You don't need an account to listen. Sign in to keep favourites, add your own stations and get a home page that fits your taste.
- Choose Sign in and enter your email address.
- Complete the quick check that proves you're a person.
- Type the 6-digit code we email you.
There is no password. A new code arrives each time you sign in. If it doesn't show up, check your spam folder.
Favourites
Tap the heart on a station to save it. Your favourites appear first on your home page and in Library, and they update on every tab and device you're signed in on.
To change the order, drag a favourite to a new spot. With the keyboard, focus one and press Alt← or Alt→.
A home page that learns
Once you're signed in, your home page lists your favourites, then stations picked for you. The picks come from what you favourite and how long you listen. Stations you skip quickly count against that kind of music.
Recently played keeps your last stations, a tap away in Library.
Add your own station
Can't find a station? Add it yourself.
- Open Library, then My stations, and choose Add a station.
- Paste the stream address. It usually ends in .mp3, .aac or .m3u8, and your station's website often lists it.
- Add a name, genre, country and, if you like, artwork and a description.
Your stations are private. Only you can see them. The stream has to be available over https, because browsers block plain http audio on a secure page.
When a station doesn't work
Streams go offline now and then. Wait a moment, then try again or pick the next station.
If it stays silent, open the station and choose Report a problem. Tell us what you hear (nothing, a wrong song, bad quality) and we'll look at it. You need to be signed in to send a report.
