About BBC Radio Ulster

BBC Radio Ulster is the BBC's national station for Northern Ireland, with local news, music, sport and talk. The schedule includes morning news and current affairs from a Northern Irish perspective, phone-ins, arts and cultural programmes, sport, faith and community features, and a broad mixture of music with a strong local flavour, including traditional and folk. The presenters speak with the accents of the region, and the tone is lively, informed and conversational.

The station has served the audience in Northern Ireland since the 1970s and is a central part of public life there, covering the Assembly, local councils, the economy and the many communities across the province. As a service of the BBC, it is funded mainly by the licence fee and carries no commercial advertising within the United Kingdom. The language is English, with local expressions and Ulster Scots and Irish elements. Because of rights, some programmes may be restricted outside the United Kingdom. The feed does not declare a fixed codec or bitrate in its metadata, and the quality may vary with the source. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
