88.9 Noticias

88.9 Noticias is a Mexico City news-talk station from Grupo ACIR, one of Mexico's major radio groups. It offers news, traffic reports and commentary from the capital, with morning and afternoon news blocks, interviews with politicians and analysts, and reports on the city's daily life, from the weather and public transport to security and the economy. The frequency is 88.9 FM, with the call sign XHM-FM, and the station presents itself as a source of rolling information for people in the metropolitan area.

Mexico City is one of the largest urban areas in the world, and its traffic and weather reports are a major part of daily life, so a station that combines them with news plays an important service role. The online stream is helpful for Mexicans living abroad and for anyone learning Spanish through current affairs. It is spoken Spanish at a natural, brisk pace. As a commercial broadcaster, it carries advertising between segments. The stream is delivered as AAC+ at 48 kbps, a low bitrate that keeps data use small and is adequate for speech. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
