Jedynka Polskie Radio Program 1

Jedynka, the first programme of Polskie Radio, is the public broadcaster's general-interest channel for all of Poland. The schedule includes news, current affairs, magazine programmes, culture, history, literature and popular music, with a calm and informative style aimed at a broad adult audience. It is one of the oldest radio services in the country and an important voice in public life.

Poland has a lively radio market, with national networks, public regional stations and many online services, and the internet lets Poles abroad keep in touch with the language and music of home. For learners of Polish, the clear diction of public radio is a useful source of listening practice. As a public service financed by licence-style public funding, it carries limited advertising compared with commercial stations. Polskie Radio also runs Dwójka (culture), Trójka (music and conversation) and Czwórka (youth) alongside Jedynka. The stream is delivered as AAC at 194 kbps, a generous bitrate that gives speech and music a clear and full sound on most devices. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
