Rádio Slovakia International

Rádio Slovakia International (RSI) is the foreign-language service of Slovak public broadcaster Slovenská televízia a rozhlas (STVR, formerly RTVS). It brings news and current-affairs magazines about Slovakia to listeners abroad and to foreigners living in the country.

Programmes are produced in several languages, with separate editions in Slovak, English, German, French, Russian and Spanish. Each edition has its own website. Recent magazine titles include Slovakia Today, Die Slowakei hautnah, La Slovaquie en direct, Slovakia segodnya and Eslovaquia hoy, and the Slovak edition is called Slovensko dnes. The service also offers a podcast section and an archive of past programmes on its website, so earlier shows can be heard on demand.

Expect spoken-word content covering politics, society, culture and daily life in Slovakia, presented in the language of each edition, rather than continuous music. As a public broadcaster service, it is aimed at informing a worldwide audience about the country. The live stream is MP3 at 128 kbit/s stereo.
