About ABC Radio National
ABC Radio National (RN) is the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's national spoken-word network. Rather than playing a music format, it offers talk, documentaries, features, interviews and analysis, taking listeners beyond the news headlines to stories of national and global significance.
RN is part of the ABC, Australia's publicly funded national broadcaster. Its programming covers arts and culture, business and current affairs, health, science and technology, Indigenous culture and issues, and religion and ethics. The service is in English and is aimed at curious listeners who want depth and long-form conversation, with programs also available as podcasts and digital articles on the ABC website.
This stream is the New South Wales feed of the network, delivered as AAC+ audio at a low bitrate suited to mobile and constrained connections. Expect a mix of live presenter-led programs, documentary strands and repeats, with occasional news bulletins from the ABC. As a public broadcaster, it carries no commercial advertising.
