About Deutschlandfunk Nova
Deutschlandfunk Nova is a German public radio station for young adults and students, run by Deutschlandradio. It mixes spoken-word programming on science, society, politics, the internet and pop culture with a selection of pop music, and its slogan is "Es ist kompliziert. Dazu guter Pop".
The station started on 18 January 2010 as DRadio Wissen and was renamed Deutschlandfunk Nova on 1 May 2017. Its studios are in Cologne, and it is a sister of Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and Dokumente und Debatten. It is a public broadcaster and does not use FM; it reaches listeners by DAB+, satellite, cable and the internet. Programming is in German.
Listeners can expect a morning show, explanatory features, news summaries with background, and many items that are also published as podcasts, between music segments of mostly contemporary pop. The stream listed here is AAC at roughly 190 kbps in stereo, a high-quality feed suited to both speech and music.
