Epic Classical Pan Flute

Epic Classical plays classical pan flute and instrumental ambient music. The programme presents well-known classical melodies and gentle instrumental pieces performed on the pan flute, often with soft orchestral or piano accompaniment, giving them a breathy, airy and slightly mystical tone. It is easy-going music, suitable for relaxation, massage, yoga, meditation, reading, restaurants and background listening in shops or offices where a calming atmosphere is desired.

The pan flute has a long history in many cultures, from the ancient Mediterranean to the Andes and Romania, and its sound is strongly associated with nature, tranquillity and nostalgia. A stream devoted to this single timbre offers a different listening experience from a typical classical station, with arrangements that emphasise melody rather than complexity. The station is operated from Germany but is entirely instrumental, so it can be enjoyed in any country, and it does not interrupt the music with talk. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 192 kbps, a generous bitrate that preserves the breathy detail and the natural resonance of the flute. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites so that a peaceful soundtrack is available whenever you need one.
