RNE Radio 5 Madrid

RNE Radio 5 Madrid is the Spanish public radio news channel Radio 5 Todo Noticias, with continuous news and short features. The programme is built around rolling news bulletins that repeat and update through the day, supplemented by brief reports on the economy, sport, weather, culture and international affairs, so listeners can tune in at any time and quickly learn what is happening. The style is concise and clear, with a calm tone that suits quick updates.

RNE is part of RTVE, the Spanish public broadcaster, which is financed mainly through public funds and operates several radio stations, including Radio 1, which focuses on general news and talk, and Radio 3, which focuses on music. Radio 5 is the choice for people who prefer a constant flow of headlines to long discussions, and it is useful for those following Spanish current affairs from abroad. Because it is a public service, advertising is limited compared with commercial stations. The content is in Spanish, with clear newsreader speech that suits learners. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which keeps speech clear and uses a moderate amount of data. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
