CGTN - English

CGTN English is the English-language news channel of China Global Television Network, the international arm of China Media Group, the state-owned broadcaster of the People's Republic of China. This stream carries the audio of its live channel, covering world news, business, current affairs and documentary programming from a Chinese perspective.

CGTN was formerly known as CCTV News and rebranded as CGTN in 2016. It is owned and funded by the Chinese state, so its editorial line reflects the Chinese government's viewpoint, which listeners should keep in mind when comparing its coverage with other international broadcasters. Content is presented in English for an international audience, with bulletins, interviews and feature programmes.

Expect regular news bulletins, reports from correspondents around the world, talk and analysis shows, and occasional documentaries.
