NRK Klassisk Radio

NRK Klassisk is the classical music channel of NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, Norway's public broadcaster. It plays classical music around the clock and is one of NRK's thematic digital channels, available on DAB, online and on digital TV.

The channel began in 1995 as Alltid Klassisk and has been described as the first fully digital 24-hour radio channel. It was later renamed NRK Klassisk. FM broadcasts of the channel ended on 1 July 2009. During the night the channel shares its signal with NRK P2 and carries the programme Notturno. As a public service channel it is funded by NRK's public mandate rather than by advertising, and the presenter links are in Norwegian.

This stream is delivered over HTTPS as MP3 at 192 kbps in stereo, a high bitrate that suits music with wide dynamics. Listeners can expect a mix of orchestral, chamber, choral and solo works presented in Norwegian. Detailed daily programming changes and is not listed here, so it is best checked on NRK Radio.
