Classic FM

Classic FM is the United Kingdom's best-known commercial classical music radio station. It plays a broad mix of classical repertoire, from baroque and symphonic favourites to piano and choral works, alongside modern orchestral pieces such as film scores and music from video games.

The station launched on 7 September 1992 as the first national classical station to start after BBC Radio 3, and it is owned by Global, the largest radio group in the UK. It broadcasts in English from studios in London and is available on FM, DAB, digital television and online. Its output is presented and accessible rather than academic, and it is known for listener-voted countdowns such as the Hall of Fame at Easter.
