NPO Klassiek

NPO Klassiek, previously known as NPO Radio 4, is the classical music station of the Dutch public broadcasters. It plays orchestral works, chamber music, opera, choral music and organ music, and its website also offers playlists, live and recorded concerts, classical music podcasts and an album of the week.

The station is part of NPO, the Nederlandse Publieke Omroep, which coordinates the national public radio and television services of the Netherlands. The old nporadio4.nl address now redirects to the npoklassiek.nl website, and the stream identifies itself as NPO Klassiek. The station's website and presentation are in Dutch, while the music itself is mostly instrumental or sung in the languages of the classical repertoire.

Expect a mix of familiar masterpieces and less well-known pieces, suited to quiet evenings, concentrated work or moments of reflection. Details of individual programmes and schedules are published on the official website. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 192 kbps in stereo, which gives orchestral music a clear and full sound. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites for easy access to classical music at any time.
