NRK P2

NRK P2 is one of the national radio channels of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). It is a speech-led channel built around news and current affairs, debate, analysis, culture, science and society, and it is often compared with the P1 channels of Denmark's DR and Sweden's SR.

NRK is Norway's public broadcaster and owns the channel. P2 began in 1984 as a second, lighter radio channel, and took its current form in the 1993 channel reform. Its FM transmitters were switched off in December 2017, so it is now heard on DAB+ and online. Programmes are in Norwegian, in both Bokmål and Nynorsk, and well-known shows include Dagsnytt, Urix and Abels tårn.

Expect talk, reporting, documentaries and cultural conversation aimed at an adult audience that wants depth rather than a constant music stream. This stream carries the live channel as AAC+ at roughly 150 kbps in stereo. The exact programme schedule is published by NRK on radio.nrk.no.
