About triple j Queensland
triple j Queensland is the Queensland feed of triple j, the national youth music radio network run by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It plays new and alternative music from Australia and around the world, with a strong emphasis on emerging Australian artists across rock, indie, electronic, hip hop and other contemporary styles.
triple j is part of the publicly funded ABC and is broadcast in English. The network is known for programs such as Like A Version, in which artists cover other artists' songs, the Friday and weekend mix shows, album features and music news, as well as the annual Hottest 100 countdown. Current affairs content for a young audience also appears in the schedule, for example in the program Hack.
This stream is the Queensland version of the network, so listeners can expect the national triple j programming with the timing of that state. It is delivered over HLS in AAC at around 250 kbps, which gives high audio quality on web and mobile players. The station is aimed mainly at younger listeners who want to discover new music rather than hear familiar chart hits.
