SomaFM PopTron

This stream carries SomaFM's PopTron channel, which plays electropop and indie dance rock with sparkle and pop. The music combines synth-pop, new wave revival, dance-punk and upbeat indie, with bright synthesizers, driving beats and hooks that stay in the head for days. It sounds both retro and fresh, bridging the era of the early 1980s synthesizer with what current bands are doing with the same ideas.

It comes from SomaFM, the commercial-free, listener-supported internet radio station based in San Francisco and on air since 1999. The channels are programmed by hand by people with a good ear for what keeps a commute or a dance floor moving. This entry is the MP3 version at 128 kbps, which plays on almost any browser, phone or smart speaker, and the artist and title are displayed whenever the track changes. RadioKite also lists another format of the same channel and a separate PopTron entry, which play the same programme, so you can pick the one that works best for your connection. PopTron is great for exercise, cleaning and getting ready for a night out.
