SomaFM Underground 80s

This stream carries SomaFM's Underground 80s channel, which plays early-eighties UK synthpop with a bit of new wave, the sound of the clubs and independent charts of the time. Drum machines, analogue synthesizers, dramatic vocals and moody hooks define the selection, which reaches well beyond the biggest hits into the offbeat records that were popular on underground dance floors. It is nostalgic yet fresh for anyone who never heard these songs on mainstream radio.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station that has broadcast from San Francisco since 1999 and plays no commercials. Its channels are programmed by hand by people who love the music. This entry is the MP3 version at 128 kbps, which works on practically every browser, phone and smart speaker, and the player shows the artist and title as each track changes. RadioKite also lists other formats of the same channel, so you can choose the one that suits your connection best. It is an excellent companion for retro parties, commuting or working with a little attitude, and you can add it to your favourites in one tap.
