Rusyn FM

Rusyn FM (rusyn FM) is an internet radio station for the Rusyn community in Slovakia, billed on its website as Rusínske internetové rádio. It plays Rusyn folk and pop music, including a Rusyn hit parade with artists such as Takt, Prospekt, Perfect and Kandráčovci.

The station broadcasts mainly in the Rusyn language, written in both Cyrillic and Latin script, while the website interface and some text are in Slovak. The site credits a Slovak cultural fund, and place names such as Prešov, Snina and Medzilaborce appear in its content; the owner and address are not stated on the site.

Besides music, the programme includes cultural and talk segments such as the Historical Calendar, Cultural Kaleidoscope, storytelling slots, a request show and voices of Rusyns in America, as well as live church services from Snina and Kamjunka. As an internet station it is reachable worldwide, which matters for a minority community whose members are spread across several countries, and the mixed music and spoken programming helps preserve and promote the Rusyn language and culture. The stream is a 192 kbps MP3 over HTTPS.
