Lounge.FM Austria

Lounge.FM is an Austrian station, heard in Vienna on 93.6 FM and DAB+, and worldwide on the web, playing chillout, downtempo and easy listening. The programme is built around smooth lounge grooves, mellow electronica, smooth jazz touches, bossa-flavoured numbers and soft vocal tracks, designed to keep the atmosphere relaxed throughout the day. It is a very popular choice for cafés, hotels, shops and offices, as well as for listeners who simply like calm background music at home.

Lounge.FM began as an internet radio and grew into a terrestrial broadcaster in the Austrian capital, which is unusual for a web-born station. The 100% Austria channel adds a local dimension to the stream, with a focus on Austrian artists and productions, such as the downtempo and electronic acts connected with the Viennese scene, which has a strong reputation for lounge music. Announcements are in German, with brief station identifications between longer music blocks. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which provides a clear and warm sound on most devices and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without any installation, and you can add it to your favourites for a smooth and stylish soundtrack.
