RNE Radio 5 Valencia

RNE Radio 5 Valencia is the Valencian edition of the Spanish public radio news channel Radio 5. The programme is built around rolling news bulletins that update through the day, supplemented by brief reports on the economy, sport, weather, culture and international affairs, with regional content for Valencia and its surroundings, so listeners can tune in at any time and quickly learn what is happening. The style is concise and clear, with a calm tone.

RNE is part of RTVE, the Spanish public broadcaster, which is financed mainly through public funds and operates regional centres across the country. Radio 5 is the choice for people who prefer a constant flow of headlines to long discussions, and local editions give communities their own news within the national service. Because it is a public service, advertising is limited compared with commercial stations. The content is in Spanish, with clear newsreader speech that suits learners, and some programmes may include Valencian. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which keeps speech clear and uses a moderate amount of data. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
