Caracol Radio Bogotá

Caracol Radio is a Colombian news radio, heard in Bogotá on 100.9 FM and 810 AM, with news, analysis, sport and entertainment. It is one of the most important names in Colombian broadcasting, with morning news programmes that set the agenda, interviews with politicians and public figures, in-depth reporting on security, the economy and society, and extensive coverage of football and other sports. The presentation is in Spanish, in a style that is serious but accessible.

The station is part of PRISA Radio, the Spanish media group that owns a number of radio brands in Latin America and Spain, and it has a long history in the country, with a reputation for covering major events as they happen. The online stream makes it possible for Colombians abroad to follow news from home, and for students of Spanish to hear authentic discussion on real topics. As a commercial service, it carries advertising and promotions between programmes. The stream is delivered as AAC+ at 32 kbps, a very low bitrate that keeps data use minimal and is adequate for speech, though music is less rich. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
