Radioacktiva Bogotá

Radioacktiva is a Colombian rock station, heard in Bogotá on 97.9 FM, with rock, rock news and classic rock. Its shows include El Gallo, The Rock Show and Correo de la Noche, and the programme mixes alternative rock, classic rock oldies and current guitar-based favourites in English and Spanish, with presenters who talk about concerts, bands and music news in a youthful, informal style. The station has long been one of the main rock destinations in the Colombian capital.

The frequency is operated by PRISA Radio, the Spanish media group that also owns the LOS40 and Caracol brands in the region, and the Radioacktiva name is used in several Colombian cities. Bogotá has a strong rock community, with major festivals such as Rock al Parque, and the station reflects this scene with local and international acts. The online stream allows Colombians abroad and rock fans elsewhere to hear the sound of the capital. As a commercial station, it carries advertising and promotions between programmes. The stream is delivered as AAC+ at 64 kbps, an efficient codec that keeps data use low while preserving acceptable sound. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
