Flaix FM

Flaix FM is a Catalan station playing dance, house, Latin and urban music, a leading music station in Catalonia. The programme is built around the current club and chart sounds, with electronic dance, pop-dance, reggaeton and urban hits, and presenters who speak Catalan in an energetic, youthful style. It is one of the most popular music stations in the region, particularly among young listeners, and has a strong identity linked with nightlife, festivals and the culture of Barcelona.

Catalan is a language spoken by millions of people in Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands and Andorra, and stations that broadcast in it, such as Flaix FM, play an important role in keeping it present in popular culture. For learners of Catalan, hearing everyday speech around music is a pleasant way to improve comprehension. The music itself is largely international, with songs in English and Spanish. As a commercial station, it carries advertising and promotions between programmes. The stream is delivered as AAC at 125 kbps, a modern codec that gives a clearer and cleaner sound than MP3 at the same bitrate and works in current browsers and on phones. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
