RFI Español

RFI Español, listed as Radio Francia Internacional, is the Spanish-language service of Radio France Internationale, the French international public radio. The programme includes news bulletins, reports from correspondents in Europe, Africa and Latin America, interviews, analysis, culture and sport, presented in Spanish for audiences in Latin America, Spain and other Spanish-speaking regions. The tone is calm and informed, and the content often looks at international affairs from a French and European perspective.

RFI broadcasts in many languages and reaches audiences by shortwave, FM relays, satellite and the internet, and it is financed mainly through public funds. For Spanish speakers, it offers an alternative view of world events to the one found in national media, and for learners it provides clear newsreader speech. As with any international broadcaster, listeners who want a balanced picture of a story may wish to compare it with other outlets. This stream is delivered as MP3 at 64 kbps, a low bitrate that keeps speech intelligible while using little data, which suits slow connections. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites for international news in Spanish.
