SRF 3

SRF 3 is the pop and rock channel of SRF, the Swiss public broadcaster for German-speaking Switzerland, with entertainment, pop and rock. The programme is aimed at a young adult audience and combines current hits and rock favourites with new music, live sessions, interviews, news and entertaining morning and afternoon shows presented in Swiss German. It is one of the most popular radio stations in German-speaking Switzerland and is closely associated with Swiss music events and festivals.

SRF, Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, is part of the SRG SSR group, which is financed mainly by licence fees and carries limited advertising. SRF 3 is a main route for Swiss artists to reach a national audience, and it combines international pop with local acts. The Swiss German dialect heard in the presenters' speech may be hard to follow for learners of standard German, but the music is mostly international and easy to enjoy. The stream is delivered as AAC at 96 kbps, an efficient codec that provides a clear sound at a moderate bitrate and works in most current browsers and on phones. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites for the sound of Swiss pop radio.
