SRF 1

SRF 1 is the general-interest channel of SRF, the Swiss public broadcaster for German-speaking Switzerland. The programme offers news, music, regional information and entertainment in Swiss German. The stream runs around the clock, so there is always something to hear whatever the hour. Because it is delivered over the internet, it is not tied to a single frequency or country, and it can be heard wherever you have a connection. A station like this works well as an all-day background, and it is easy to leave running at home, in the shop or at the office.

SRF, Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen, is part of the SRG SSR group, financed mainly by licence fees, so its channels carry limited advertising. The stream is delivered as AAC at 96 kbps, a moderate bitrate that provides a good sound for speech and music while keeping data use modest. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
