SomaFM Christmas Lounge

This stream carries Christmas Lounge, the seasonal channel of SomaFM, a mix of chillout and lounge arrangements of Christmas music. The programme brings together mellow, jazzy, downtempo and easy-listening versions of the best-loved songs of the holiday season, from carols and winter classics to original seasonal tracks, in the relaxed style that suits cosy evenings, gatherings and decorating the tree. The mood is warm, gentle and festive, a calmer alternative to the usual bells-and-chorus Christmas playlists.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station based in San Francisco that has been on the air since 1999 and plays no commercials. Its channels are programmed by hand by people who love the music, and the seasonal channels are a long-standing tradition for its listeners, so the stream may be most active around the winter holidays. This entry is an MP3 stream listed by the broadcaster at 256 kbps, which gives a fuller sound than the regular 128 kbps streams on good headphones or speakers. It needs somewhat more bandwidth than the standard stream, so on a slow or metered mobile connection another version may be a better choice. The artist and title are displayed as tracks change, and you can add it to your favourites.
