Flashback Alternatives

Flashback Alternatives is an online radio station that calls itself "The Past, Present, and Future of Classic Alternative Music". It plays classic alternative, new wave, punk and indie, along with deep cuts, with a strong focus on the 1980s according to the stream's genre metadata.

The station broadcasts in English and is listed as American. Its website does not name an owner or give a location. It shows a Streemlion licensing notice and invites listeners to support it through donations, and it also offers a listener chat for fans of the music.

Expect a mix of well-known alternative favourites and lesser-heard album tracks from the new wave and post-punk era, as well as some newer material in the same spirit. Listeners who grew up with 1980s college and alternative radio will find much that is familiar, while others can use it to discover older bands. The stream is a 64 kbps AAC+ feed, which sounds good on mobile connections and uses little data.
