About RFI Tiếng Việt
RFI Tiếng Việt is the Vietnamese-language service of Radio France Internationale (RFI), the French public international radio broadcaster. It provides news, current affairs and analysis for Vietnamese speakers in Vietnam and around the world.
RFI is a French state-funded broadcaster that produces services in many languages from Paris. The Vietnamese service covers news from Vietnam, France and the wider world, along with reports on society, culture and international affairs, all presented in Vietnamese. It is aimed at listeners in Vietnam as well as the Vietnamese diaspora, and its editorial line is that of an international public broadcaster funded by the French state.
Expect spoken-word programming rather than music: news bulletins, reports, interviews and magazine-style shows. Detailed schedules are published on the RFI website and may change. The stream used here is a 64 kbit/s MP3 feed at 22.05 kHz stereo, a light format suited to mobile connections and any browser or internet radio player.
