WXXI Classical 91.5

WXXI Classical 91.5 is a public radio station in Rochester, New York, devoted to classical music. Its signal on 91.5 FM, formerly using the call sign WXXI-FM and now WXXO, is broadcast from Pinnacle Hill and reaches roughly 50 miles around the city. The programme is also heard in Houghton on WXXY 90.3.

The station is owned by the WXXI Public Broadcasting Council, a non-profit that also operates WXXI-TV, WXXI AM 1370 and a news and information service on 105.9 FM. It first went on the air on December 23, 1974, and became mostly classical in 1975 after the former commercial classical station WBFB changed formats and donated its music library. The station is listener-supported and broadcasts in English.
