Radio Felicidad 1180 AM

Radio Felicidad 1180 AM is a Mexico City station from Grupo ACIR playing ballads and music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The programme is devoted to the golden age of romantic songs in Spanish, with the great balladeers of Mexico and Latin America, boleros, pop románticos and international hits translated into Spanish, as well as instrumental versions and older favourites that evoke family memories. The name, which means happiness, is a good description of the cheerful and nostalgic atmosphere it aims to create.

The station broadcasts on 1180 kHz under the call sign XEFR-AM, and it has a long history on the AM dial in the capital. Stations of this type are important to older listeners, who appreciate the clear presentation and the familiar repertoire, and they have also gained new audiences online. ACIR is one of the major radio operators in Mexico and distributes its stations through the iHeartRadio platform. Announcements are in Spanish, and as a commercial service, it carries advertising between songs. The stream is delivered as AAC+ at 48 kbps, a very low bitrate that keeps data use small and reflects its AM heritage. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
