Fórmula Melódica 97.9

Fórmula Melódica is a Guadalajara station on 97.9 FM playing ballads and romantic music in Spanish. The programme concentrates on melodic songs from several decades, including the classic baladas of Latin America and Spain, boleros, romantic pop and soft hits that suit a relaxed day, together with a friendly style of presentation. The mood is warm and sentimental, and the music is selected to be easy on the ear and emotionally familiar for adult listeners.

The station broadcasts under the call sign XETIA-FM and belongs to Grupo Unidifusión, associated with the Fórmula radio group's Notisistema, a media company in Jalisco. Guadalajara is a city with a strong cultural identity and a rich musical heritage, including mariachi and ranchera, and a ballad station provides a gentler alternative to its regional Mexican stations. The online stream allows people from the region who live abroad, particularly in the United States, to hear the sound of home. Announcements are in Spanish, and as a commercial service it carries advertising between songs and programmes. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 64 kbps, a low bitrate that keeps data use small and is adequate for casual listening. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites for quiet evenings.
