DR P4 Esbjerg
About DR P4 Esbjerg
DR P4 Esbjerg is the regional radio station for the Esbjerg area on the Danish west coast, part of the P4 family of regional channels run by DR (Danmarks Radio), Denmark's public service broadcaster. It mixes local news, weather and traffic information with a broad selection of popular music aimed at an adult audience.
The station began broadcasting on 1 January 2007 and is one of the ten regional P4 stations across Denmark. As a public service channel it is funded by the Danish media licence arrangement rather than advertising, and its programming is in Danish. Regional programmes are produced locally, while some shows are shared with other P4 stations during parts of the day.
Listeners can expect a friendly, conversational tone, regional reporting about life in south-west Jutland, and a playlist centred on familiar pop and adult contemporary songs from past decades and today. The catalogue entry uses an AAC stream delivered as HLS, which DR publishes through its own live radio infrastructure. Detailed schedule and presenter information is available on the DR LYD website, and the exact programme lineup changes over time.
