Smooth FM 91.5 Melbourne

Smooth FM 91.5 is a Melbourne station playing lounge and easy listening music. The programme focuses on relaxed, melodic songs for adult listeners, including soft pop and adult contemporary favourites, smooth soul, mellow classics and gentle instrumental material, presented by friendly hosts who add light chat, news and traffic updates. The sound is polished and unobtrusive, designed for the office, the car and the home, and the station positions itself as a calm companion for the day.

The station broadcasts on 91.5 FM in the Victorian capital and belongs to the commercial radio sector, so it carries advertising and promotional messages between songs. The online stream allows former residents of Melbourne and fans of relaxing music anywhere in the world to listen. The language is English, with Australian accents. This stream is delivered as AAC+ at 320 kbps, an unusually high bitrate for this efficient codec, which gives music a very clean and detailed sound, particularly on good headphones or speakers. It uses more data than typical streams, so on a slow or metered mobile connection another station may be more practical. It plays in your browser on RadioKite, and you can add it to your favourites.
