Vividh Bharati
About Vividh Bharati
Vividh Bharati is an Indian radio service of All India Radio, the public broadcaster run under Prasar Bharati. It is best known for Hindi film music, mixing classic and popular songs with short plays, skits, listener request shows and other light entertainment programming. The name is commonly translated as "Diverse Voices".
The service began broadcasting on 3 October 1957 and became one of the most familiar entertainment channels in India. Programmes are produced centrally in Mumbai and distributed to many All India Radio stations by satellite. Long-running shows such as Jaimala, Hawa Mahal and Chhaya Geet have been part of its schedule for decades. The language of the channel is mainly Hindi, and its audience is wide, from older listeners who grew up with the golden age of Hindi cinema to anyone looking for familiar Bollywood melodies.
Expect a relaxed, music-led mix with presenters speaking Hindi between songs, along with themed programme slots through the day. This stream is delivered as an HLS feed (AAC audio at around 93 kbps), so it works in modern browsers and apps and adapts to the listener's connection. Detailed daily schedules are published by All India Radio and may change over time.
