WXB 102
About WXB 102
WXB 102 is an internet radio station devoted to new wave, post-punk, punk, synthpop and related alternative music, mostly from the late 1970s and 1980s, with a focus on artists from the UK, the US and the Philippines. It streams around the clock through Mixlr.
The name comes from DWXB, a Metro Manila FM station that began in 1978 as a disco outlet on 102.7 MHz and later became widely regarded as the first all-new-wave station in the Philippines, known for daring to be different. The FM broadcast ended in June 1987. The brand was revived online in 2005 and is listed as being run by Sutton Records. The 102.7 frequency is now used by another station, so WXB 102 exists only as an online stream.
Expect a nostalgic, alternative-leaning mix that appeals to fans of the 80s underground and college-radio sound, with songs mainly in English. The stream is a 128 kbps stereo MP3 feed. Detailed show schedules are not published on the stream page, so programming is best described as a continuous music flow rather than a set of scheduled shows.
