About Radio Pakistan World Service

Radio Pakistan World Service is the international-facing service of Radio Pakistan, the national public radio broadcaster of Pakistan, also known as the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. The World Service was established on 21 April 1973 and, according to public sources, its external broadcasts reach the Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, the Far East and parts of Eastern Europe in a number of foreign languages.

Radio Pakistan began on 14 August 1947 and is owned by the Government of Pakistan through the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. National broadcasts are mainly in Urdu and English, so expect news, current affairs and programming presenting Pakistan to audiences at home and abroad. As a state broadcaster, its editorial line reflects the government's public-service remit, and listeners should keep that in mind when following political coverage.

The exact schedule of this stream is not published in its metadata, which shows no station name, so the programme mix may vary through the day. This online relay is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps in stereo, which works in most web players, phones and car systems.
