Willy
About Willy
Willy is a Flemish digital radio station dedicated to guitar-driven music. It plays rock, alternative pop and classic rock favourites, with a focus on songs built around guitars. This stream delivers the station as a 128 kbps MP3 feed.
Willy is owned by DPG Media, the company behind the Flemish stations Qmusic and Joe. It grew out of an idea from Joe's music director Kevin Moens, who felt that the Flemish radio landscape had no guitar-focused station. Because the FM band was full, Willy became the group's first digital-only station, available through DAB+, online streaming and the Radioplayer platform. It went on air on 11 October 2019 and has been reported to target music lovers aged roughly 35 and over.
Expect a music-heavy programme in Dutch-speaking Belgium, with presenters speaking Dutch and a playlist of mostly English-language rock and pop songs from several decades. The station positions itself as a complement to Qmusic and Joe rather than a competitor, so it suits listeners who want rock and alternative sounds without the chart-pop focus of its sister stations.
