BRF1

BRF1 is the main radio programme of the Belgischer Rundfunk (BRF), the public broadcaster of the German-speaking Community of Belgium, based in Eupen. It is a general-interest German-language station that mixes pop and rock music with news, regional information, talk and sport.

BRF1 was created in 2001 when the former BRF Radio was split in two, with BRF2 taking over traditional and folk music. Besides its daily morning show and news bulletins, its schedule includes a listener-voted weekly hit parade, an oldies show, jazz, classical and folk programmes, talk shows such as Forum and Brasserie, and a sports programme. It reaches East Belgium on FM, DAB, cable and online.

The stream is an MP3 feed at 128 kbps in stereo and passed an automated playback check. Listeners can expect a lively blend of current and classic songs with regional news and conversation in German, aimed mainly at the people of Ostbelgien but open to anyone online.
