VivaCité Bruxelles
About VivaCité Bruxelles
VivaCité Bruxelles is the Brussels regional version of VivaCité, a general-interest French-language public radio network run by the Belgian broadcaster RTBF. It combines popular music with local information, news, sport and listener interaction, and aims to reflect everyday life in the Brussels region.
VivaCité was created in 2004 by merging the regional Fréquence Wallonie network with the Brussels station Bruxelles Capitale. RTBF, the public service broadcaster of the French Community of Belgium, owns and funds it. The network is organised in regional stations that share part of their programmes while offering local news and content for their own area. The language of broadcast is French, and the target audience is a broad adult public.
Expect a mix of French-language and international hits, regular news and traffic updates, sport coverage, magazines and talk programmes with local guests. The station is also available on FM and DAB+ in Belgium. The online stream is delivered as MP3 at 160 kbps in stereo, and the details of the current programme schedule are published on the RTBF website.
