About KINK

KINK is a Dutch radio station devoted to alternative rock. It plays guitar-based music from outside the mainstream, mixing established favourites of the alternative scene with newer discoveries, and the stream identifies itself as Modern Rock. Presenters introduce the music and take messages from listeners, so the channel feels personal rather than a plain playlist.

KINK is the successor to Kink FM, a well-known alternative rock station that ran from October 1995 to October 2011. The new KINK launched on 1 February 2019 with backing from Leon Ramakers, co-founder of Mojo Concerts. It is available online, in its own app and on DAB+, and it also runs themed web channels for particular styles and eras alongside podcasts and replays.

The programme language is Dutch, while most of the music is in English. Expect rock, indie and alternative tracks with comments from the hosts. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 192 kbps stereo, which gives a clear and full sound on most devices, and it plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation. Details about ownership and the full schedule are published on the KINK website.
