Nostalgie France

Nostalgie France is the national French station of the Nostalgie brand, devoted to the hits of past decades. The programme plays French chanson, pop and rock favourites from the 1960s to the 1990s, with the familiar voices of French-language and international music, presented in French by friendly hosts who add short news bulletins and light chat. The mood is warm and sentimental, and the stream is designed to bring back memories for adult listeners.

The Nostalgie brand began in France in the early 1980s and expanded into several countries. A classic-hits format is very popular with listeners who prefer songs they know by heart to the churn of current releases, and it is useful for learners of French who want to hear well-known songs. The brand also runs thematic web channels devoted to particular decades and styles. As a commercial service, it carries advertising and promotional messages between songs. The stream is delivered as MP3 at 128 kbps, which works on practically every browser, phone and smart speaker and keeps data use moderate. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites for a regular trip down memory lane with a French accent.
