93XRT WXRT 93.1 Chicago

93XRT (WXRT 93.1 FM) is an adult album alternative radio station in Chicago, Illinois. It plays a broad playlist of rock, alternative, indie, folk-rock, blues, reggae and pop from several decades, with a large catalogue of more than five thousand songs rather than a tight rotation.

The station is owned by Audacy, Inc. It first went on air in 1960 as WSBC-FM and has used the WXRT call letters since 1963. Its studios are near Millennium Park and its transmitter is atop the John Hancock Center. Programming is in English and includes locally hosted shows and features such as Saturday Morning Flashback, with on-air hosts who are well known to Chicago listeners.

Listeners can expect a mix of current alternative artists and long-standing favorites, with a distinctly Chicago identity and a music-first approach that sets it apart from more tightly formatted rock stations. The stream is delivered as 128 kbps AAC over HLS, so it adapts well to different connections on phones, computers and connected speakers.
