SomaFM Suburbs of Goa

Suburbs of Goa is SomaFM's channel of Desi-influenced Asian world beats and beyond. It mixes Indian classical and Bollywood-tinged sounds with electronic production, including Asian underground, bhangra remixes, downtempo with sitar and tabla, Middle Eastern and South Asian fusion and the chillout sounds associated with the beaches of Goa. The result is colourful, rhythmic and warm, with plenty of melodic detail and a sense of travel from one cultural setting to another.

SomaFM is an independent, listener-supported internet radio station based in San Francisco that has been on the air since 1999 and plays no commercials. Its channels are programmed by hand by people who love the music, and the stream flows without advertising or talk breaks. This entry is the AAC version at 128 kbps, a more modern codec than MP3 that delivers clearer sound at the same bitrate and is supported by current browsers and phones. The artist and title are displayed in the player as each track changes.
