JazzRadio Berlin

JazzRadio Berlin is a Berlin radio station that plays jazz around the clock. Its own website describes it as Germany's only 24-hour jazz station on FM, broadcasting on 106.8 MHz in the Berlin area and on DAB+ (block 7B), with a live stream for listeners elsewhere.

The station is an independent service and is financed in part through advertising, which can be booked through its sales partner, and through a merchandise shop. The website and presentation are mainly in German. The station has reported that the Berlin-Brandenburg media authority did not renew its FM licence after about 30 years on air, so the digital routes, including the online stream and DAB+, are an important way to listen. Further details about individual programmes and presenters are best taken from the official site.

On RadioKite the stream is delivered as MP3 at 192 kbps, stereo at 44.1 kHz, a generous bitrate that gives the instruments of jazz a clear and full sound. The official website also offers a player with track display, a favourites function, a list of recently played songs and free apps for iOS and Android. It plays in your browser on RadioKite without installation, and you can add it to your favourites.
