Radio Capital

Radio Capital is a national Italian radio station that mixes music with news and commentary. Its playlist centres on classic pop and rock from the 1970s to the 1990s, and it presents itself under the slogan "Solo bella musica".

The station began in May 1977 as Controradio Cormano, in Cormano near Milan, and became Radio Capital in 1980. Claudio Cecchetto bought it in 1987, and in the late 1990s it passed to the L'Espresso group's Elemedia, which is now part of the GEDI Gruppo Editoriale. Its ties to the newspaper la Repubblica gave it a news-oriented profile compared with many purely musical networks. Its main headquarters have been in Milan since 2017, with a secondary office in Rome.

Expect music-led programmes mixed with talk and current-affairs segments, all in Italian, aimed at an adult audience that enjoys the classics of recent decades. The station is available on FM, DAB, satellite and online through its website. This stream is an HLS feed in AAC at about 120 kbps, delivered over HTTPS.
