Rai Radio 3 Classica

Rai Radio 3 Classica is the classical music channel of the Italian state broadcaster RAI. It plays classical music around the clock, without commercials, covering orchestral works, chamber music, opera, and recordings from across the repertoire. This stream is a 256 kbps MP3 feed, a higher bitrate than most web radio.

The channel has gone by several names over the years, including FD Auditorium and Rai Radio Classica, and has been called Rai Radio 3 Classica since 2020. It has its roots in the filodiffusione service, a cable radio system launched by RAI and SIP in 1958, which is why some listings still carry that word. It is owned and produced by RAI and is also relayed overnight on Rai Radio 3.

Presenters and programme notes are in Italian, while the music itself is international. Listeners can expect a calm, music-focused schedule suited to concentration, relaxation or discovering new repertoire. The station is available on the RaiPlay Sound platform and through other RAI distribution channels. Details of individual programmes are published on RAI's website.
