Venice Classic Radio

Venice Classic Radio, often shortened to VCR, is an online classical music station broadcasting from Venice, Italy. This stream carries its VCR Auditorium channel, which plays classical music around the clock. The station describes itself as a live classical music radio from Venice, and its website also offers a second channel called VCR Classica+ and a podcast section.

The repertoire covers the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and twentieth-century periods. Recent playlists on the site have included Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel, Telemann, Couperin, Debussy and Samuel Barber, as well as lesser-known composers such as Felicien David. The website and station branding are in Italian, and the station identifies itself as Venice Classic Radio Italia in its stream metadata. The owner is not named on the website, and the site includes a donation link, suggesting listener support.

The programme is almost entirely music, so it suits background listening, study or concentrated listening to orchestral, chamber and solo works. The stream is a 128 kbps MP3 feed over HTTPS and can be played in any standard audio player or browser.
